TONY GABRIELE is a writer and performer who lives in York County. For 33 years, he worked for the Daily Press newspaper of Newport News, and for The Times-Herald, the afternoon paper formerly published by the same company, as a writer and copy editor. He is perhaps best known for his 25 years as a columnist for the local papers. Last year he resumed writing his "Get Serious!" column once a week for the Daily Press. He also has several decades of theater experience, primarily with the Williamsburg Players theater group. Currently he is an actor in Colonial Williamsburg's evening programs and a puppeteer with Rainbow Puppets of Hampton. For the past several years he has been studying the life of Benjamin Franklin, and he is delighted to be adding his portrayal of Doctor Franklin to his other pursuits.
